Description

Acorn is currently seeking a versatile Operations Manager, to control and lead a waste facility workforce and ensure customer satisfaction at all times, by controlling costs and safety requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Companywide operations, to lead, motivate, and allocate work to team
  • Ensure procedures are followed to maximise coverage of your area, that work is finished on time, and all relevant paperwork is provided, completed, and signed off after every shift
  • Ensure all operational measuring tools are up to date and forwarded to the relevant parties on time (KPI data etc.)
  • Utilise manpower to get the most effective performance through the shift and manage and ensure all Health & Safety Procedures are adhered too
  • Brief and inform your team members when and where applicable (Toolbox talks)
  • Look at ways to continuously improve service and communications
  • Effectively manage holiday and rota cover
  • Ensure the team have the appropriate qualifications and inductions to operate in the areas
  • Prepare monthly reports with support of team on the contract's performance
  • Control and manage costs for projects to budget
  • Ensure all H&S measures are in place and completed, such as hazard reports and take 2 Point of work Risk Assessments etc.
  • Develop good working relationships with the client and attend all required meetings and carry out proactive site visits
  • Carry out other duties as and when required within your skill spectrum

Required attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years in the industry
  • Relevant Health & Safety Training Certificates
  • CCNSG Card or IOSH Site Safety qualification
  • Experience in the position or similar role
  • A full driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to influence and manage people
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Strong work ethic and desire to be part of a team
  • Strong IT skills and ability to embrace new technology and systems
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines 'cando' attitude
  • Attention to detail

Salary:
dependant on experience and qualification; package to include a company 4x4 van
Based at Tata Steel site in Port Talbot but mobile to satisfy effective management of contracts.
