Abbie Fielding
Administrative
About Abbie Fielding:
The reason that I have chosen to apply to this job is because I am looking for a long-term career in a friendly office environment. I thrive in customer-based environments, as this suits my personality and preferred work placement; and I believe that this job would be a great opportunity to start a long-lasting future career in a stable working placement.
I am a flexible, adaptable individual and a team player when it comes to my working attitude. I am looking to use my skills within a busy setting and as this role is front-facing I believe that I would be a suitable candidate from my extensive experience working with customers from Event work, to Sales and Retail jobs and even Waiting and Food industry work. I am a friendly and talkative worker who is confident in a customer-based job and so I believe that I would thrive in the working environment that has been described in this Job Application. My administrative and computer skills have largely come from Education and my University degree, including Marketing projects, Presentations, Essays, and a 10,000-word Critical Project, with a topic of my choosing as my Dissertation. My time at University has led to me acquiring many IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications (Including; Excel, PowerPoint, Word), ability to write and articulate emails to professionals as well as typing large amounts of work for Reports and Essays.
In addition to this, I have great time-keeping skills, organisation and planning as a result of my University degree including exams which I needed to prepare for, deadlines for Coursework meaning that I had to schedule my time accordingly. As well as those skills, another example is that throughout my education I have juggled part-time jobs in retail and hospitality. While at University in Manchester, I had Lectures three day a week at different times and locations, which consisted of different topics and subjects. In addition to my education, I was working a part-time job at Primark, working in team projects at University for coursework, exercising at the Gym and managing time in my busy schedule to plan for meals with friends and to book and to visit home via train. When juggling living awa from home, I found that organisation and planning were massive factors that I had to include and plan around, these examples I believe show my capability to be an organised individual as well as my ability to handle large and sometimes overwhelming workloads.
In my past jobs and working conditions, I have found myself capable to withstand pressures and fast-paced environments and this has been my preferred type of job in the past. I find that I have an ability to communicate effectively and I have worked work well with a wide range of teams and individuals across companies and even different group projects and classes at University. I am a determined individual who strives for perfection in her work, and who finds satisfaction upon completion of tasks. As well as this I understand the importance of unity in the workplace, you must be respectful to all members of staff, especially when working together towards a common goal, and must acknowledge and respect each person's own roles, as well as being responsible for your own individual task.
Overall, I believe that my many skills learnt in my seven years spent in customer facing roles, as well as my time and skills covering my years in Education and at University, have given me the ability to type concisely in large assignments and to conduct myself professionally in email correspondents with students and staff members, to be honest and upfront in team projects and to read large volumes of information and understand and work this into the desired form of note or gathered information. I feel that my experiences have granted me with desirable and transferable skills which I find deem me as qualified for this job role. I look forward to a job that is challenging, and that will need me to adapt and push myself and I hope to hear back from you soon.
Experience
My professional experience can be summarised as majoritively customer based, within the hospitality sector, retail and sales assistant work as well as event work. My work experience consists of all part-time roles as I had been juggling work around my education, the longest I had worked at one job was at The Handmade Burger Co inbetween years at University from Sheffield to Manchester over the summer months, equating to 1 year and 3 months of employment. This year I have completed and graduated from University, so I am looking for a full-time job where I can build a successful career, still in a customer-focused role ideally, as this is where I have gained most of my experience, but a more advanced position would be preferred perhaps focused on Admin roles and office-based work.
Education
I have recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree on the subject of Film and Media, from Manchester Metropolitan University.
