About Abigail Chatterjee:
I am a qualified and professional book editor, with highly developed proofreading and analytical skills; an effective communicator, punctual, computer literate, conscientious and friendly, keen to learn and quick to integrate. I'm committed to creative storytelling and have a first class honours degree in English and Theology from University of St Andrews. I enjoy swimming, sketching, language-learning, Church and theatre in my spare time.
I am currently the assistant editor at Muddy Pearl Books, where I have gained invaluable insight into all aspects of the publishing process. In addition to my editorial experience – which encompasses not only my employment, but a wide range of extra-curricular activities from school, university and beyond (see CV for details) – I also have firsthand experience of research and journalism, from freelance work for Scholastic News and contributions to several student publications to the (unexpected!) enjoyment of writing and especially reading for my university dissertation.
It should be noted that I have a physical disability, a congenital hand anomaly (i.e. non-functioning thumbs/right wrist and limited shoulder dexterity), which can impact my movement. While this has not always been easy, it has made me both resilient and resourceful. It may have restricted my movement, but it has never restricted my work.
I'm excited for the next chapter in my career!
