About Abigail Pribadi:
I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and have had the privilege of living in different cities around the world. After moving to Shanghai to finish high school, I then relocated to the UK to pursue my passion for healthcare and medical sciences.
I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Dundee, where I earned a degree in Anatomical Sciences. My deep interest in human anatomy and its application in healthcare has always guided my career aspirations. During this time, I discovered a strong interest in forensic pathology, which led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Forensic Medical Sciences at Queen Mary University.
Throughout my studies, I have built a solid foundation in anatomical science and forensic medical research. I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge to contribute to the healthcare community, particularly in areas related to forensic pathology and medical investigations. I am passionate about utilizing my expertise to make a meaningful impact in this field and am excited to begin my career, eager to help support and advance healthcare practices.
Experience
Although I have not yet had formal job experience, my academic background and volunteering roles have equipped me with relevant skills and a strong foundation for this position. Through my studies in Forensic Medical Sciences and Anatomical Sciences, I have developed a deep understanding of death certification processes, ethical considerations, and handling sensitive information related to deceased individuals.
Additionally, my volunteering experience at the mortuary allowed me to gain practical insights into mortuary procedures, such as maintaining hygiene standards, observing how professionals liaise with families, and supporting the work of multidisciplinary teams. I have also worked closely with coroners and observed autopsy procedures, further enhancing my understanding of the field. I am eager to apply this knowledge and grow further in a professional capacity.
Education
I hold a Master’s degree in Forensic Medical Sciences and an undergraduate degree in Anatomical Sciences, both of which provided me with extensive knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and legal frameworks surrounding death certification. I have gained hands-on experience through volunteering as a mortuary technician, where I managed mortuary procedures, liaised with bereaved families, and upheld the dignity of the deceased. Additionally, I have worked closely with coroners, shadowed autopsy viewings, and conducted cadaveric research, demonstrating a strong understanding of ethical and procedural standards.
My experience has equipped me with excellent organizational skills, the ability to communicate complex information with empathy, and proficiency in IT systems. I am adept at navigating legal processes, understanding diverse cultural practices, and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
