About Akinola Samuel:

after gaining experience working in TfL’s Ariba supplier Enablement team and working in various public sector organisations such as Enfield and Southwark council I am confident the combination of my current and previous skill set has placed me in a unique position to fulfil  this role. I hope to transfer my current and previous experience and build on not only my advanced technical Ariba skills but also my interpersonal skills to build a team based culture where every member of the team feels valued and considered, with an emphasis placed on personal learning and development in line with TfL core values. Accepting and conquering challenges is the foundation of my career and something I do with confidence and fearlessness.

In my previous role as a property negotiation officer, I worked closely with Agents to ensure the properties procured were at the best possible rates. I engaged in several calls and meetings in this role to negotiate the prices and terms at the start of each service agreement. Working as a property negotiations officer my role involved providing daily and monthly reports on property portfolio to senior members of staff to aid budget reports and ensure that the properties in the portfolio were the best value for money.

I believe I have been able to utilise previous local government experience to communicate effectively in a personable yet professional manner to a diverse demographic of customer. I believe this directly enhances my customer service when dealing with suppliers In my current role. I have also provided urgent assistance to a variety of stakeholders on tight deadlines further enhancing my ability to work under pressure.

I am aware and proficient in procurement processes such as mini call offs, DPS’s(dynamic purchasing systems) RFP’s and ITT’s. I have worked within different stages within the procurement cycle. In my role as a Project Coordinator at Enfield council I was responsible for commissioning minor repair work through mini competition. I quality assured work was completed in line with the stated requirements- and once satisfied approved invoiced for payment. At Southwark council I sat on the Corporate contract Review board which I assisted developing, category Pipelines; reviewing, Procurement Strategies, Contract Award and Variation documents ensuring each Procurement complies to the term and condition under  PCR 15 and UCR 16 and evolving public procurement requirements this was pivotal in ensuring project timelines were met across the organisation and in line with the Business Procurement directives. I have good experience conducting supplier negotiations and have managed to achieve cost savings through ensuring the best value has been achieved on each procurement and being able to identify opportunities for negotiation so all contract are awarded to  the Most Economically Advantageous Tenderer.
