Experience

1. Experience of working either directly or indirectly in the Infrastructure Environment
As an Operations Support Grade at HM Prison, my role involves direct responsibility for infrastructure and site security management in a secure, highly regulated environment. I oversee control room operations, monitor security systems, and conduct regular perimeter inspections, ensuring safety and site integrity. This work requires continuous infrastructure monitoring, incident response, and daily demonstration of facility oversight.
Previously, in my role at  Hospital Woking, I conducted environmental and safety patrols, flagged hazards, and escalated incidents involving patients in a mental health setting. These actions directly contributed to infrastructure protection, highlighting my understanding of compliance, safety protocols, and infrastructure dependencies in sensitive environments.
In  Ghana, I managed the deployment of 87 trade activation vans nationwide, requiring significant logistical coordination and physical infrastructure support. I also led brand material distribution across key markets, working with transport and facility teams to ensure complete operational execution.
2. Proven ability to work at pace, manage competing priorities, and adapt to emerging issues
My career has consistently demanded adaptability, composure, and efficiency in fast-moving environments. At HM Prison, I frequently respond to live incidents such as breaches or emergencies while maintaining routine operations, often having to reprioritise tasks in real time. I’ve developed an instinctive ability to balance planned operations with urgent, reactive responsibilities, a critical capability for high-security and high-stakes environments.
At the Hospital, I was often the first responder during psychiatric escalations. These high-stress moments required immediate decision-making, clinical documentation, and collaboration with nursing and security teams. Such unpredictability honed my ability to remain focused and flexible under pressure.
My time as Senior Account Manager further deepened this skill. I delivered over 35 strategic projects within tight deadlines, often under resource constraints. This taught me how to effectively streamline operations and balance client needs, logistics, and internal deadlines.
3. Line management experience, with the ability to provide strong support to a broader team
Throughout my roles, I have demonstrated strong leadership and team support capabilities. As National Sales Manager, I led national strategy and supervised multiple sales teams nationwide. I implemented performance KPIS, held regular performance reviews, and supported the development of junior staff. My focus on mentoring resulted in improved retention and performance across underperforming regions.
I coordinated regional sales activations and managed multiple teams and contractors delivering on-ground branding and logistics. I provided direct support and guidance to activation personnel, ensuring they had the tools and leadership needed to succeed in high-mobility roles.
I contribute to staff coordination within the prison setting, where clear delegation, trust-building, and collaborative decision-making are crucial. Although not currently in a formal line management post, my daily role involves coordinating with multiple officers, support workers, and supervisory staff, often taking the lead during multi-staff incidents.
As a doctoral researcher, I have supervised and mentored undergraduate and master’s students in academic and project settings, strengthening my ability to coach and guide diverse team members in a structured, goal-driven environment.
4. The ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
I have engaged with various internal and external stakeholders across sectors, including healthcare, criminal justice, FMCG, and academia.
In my current role, I liaise with prison officers, visitors, administrative staff, and law enforcement partners to ensure safe and compliant operations. This requires constant communication, clarity, and the ability to manage sensitive interactions professionally.
As Senior Account Manager, I worked with senior clients, marketing teams, suppliers, and analysts to deliver complex campaigns. I was responsible for presenting to stakeholders, synthesising feedback, and leading meetings. These experiences taught me to adjust my communication style across technical, strategic, and operational levels.
In my doctoral role at the University, I work closely with faculty, research participants, and compliance committees. I have presented my research at academic forums, contributed to grant applications, and taught sessions to a mixed academic audience, which sharpened my ability to influence and communicate with impact.
