Alexander Aichinger

Over the last 7 years I have built up experience at Porsche. Along with being a full-time senior software developer I have had the pleasure to lead internal trainings, vetting job applicants of abilities, lead 10 devs.

I am currently working at an iOS startup as a full stack developer, but have built vast experience as a backend developer over the last 7 years.

Tech stack: SwiftUI, Kotlin Spring Boot application with MongoDB hosted in AWS.

Previously to this startup I was a full-time senior software developer with a wholly owned Porsche subsidiary, MHP - A Porsche Company. I spent my time there from 2017-2024, when I moved to London. I was most recently, for 4 years, within a financial middleware project that handled all of the financial backend tasks for a plethora of Porsche online stores. This project was tasked with sending financial book keeping data to an SAP system via REST, handling worldwide tax calculations (EU was calculated internally, while more complicated tax jurisdictions were calculated via a purchased product via API), ensuring PDF invoices are generated, and developed a contracting system for monthly contracts of stores clients. 

During my time there I also lead and developed, via Terraform and Terragrunt, the migration of 10 micro services from a CloudFoundry client managed cloud to the project owned AWS account. This involved setting up new infrastructure within AWS utilising IaC tools to provision an EKS cluster to run the existing micro services.

During my time there I also developed and owned two new micro services that were tasked to ensure Porsche's eCommerce strategy can be realised. This meant a greenfield development of new services and infrastructure to allow various eCommerce stores to utilise the projects existing functionality over Kafka events. These were key to publicly announced goals that Porsche had published via the press.

Along with my full-time software architecting and development time, I utilised a small portion of my capacity to lead a team of 10 software developers, hold quarterly internal software development and AWS trainings, and was involved within the companies internal recruiting process to ensure software developers were thoroughly vetted for their technical abilities.
 

I have graduated from San Francisco State University in 2017 with a bachelor of science in computer science and a minor in mathematics.
