Alexandra Kakavouli

I am currently pursuing an MSc in Forensic Psychology, aiming to deepen my understanding of the psychological principles applied within the criminal justice system. With a strong aspiration to become a Doctor of Psychology, I am dedicated to advancing my career towards securing a position as an assistant psychologist. I am eager to gain hands-on experience and am open to roles as a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker. These positions will allow me to develop essential skills, provide compassionate care, and contribute to the well-being of individuals in need, while supporting my long-term professional goals in psychology.

During my volunteering at Victim Support Services and Kent Youth Justice, I have gained substantial knowledge on high-quality mental health and social care services. My volunteer role at Kent Youth Council as a community panel member at Kent County Council taught me how to aid young people and accommodate their needs while supporting them in them contributing back to the society. Working with young children and their families has given me the opportunity to attend and participate in team and supervision meetings and appraisals. Moreover, my volunteering role has given me the ability communicate in a multi-agency group to provide an effective service to children, young people and their families as well as the ability to appropriately handle confidential information. Additionally, I completed the training at the Victim Support Services training for the provision of direct support to the victims over the telephone, online or face-to-face which made me experienced in attending case management and training sessions for staff and actively contribute to these meetings. Additionally, I completed another internship in a Children Mental Health Centre in Athens during which I followed cases of psychotherapy which enabled me to understand individual challenges of children.
