About Alice Park:
I'm Alice from South Korea. My full name is Alice Sooyeon Park :)
Currently, I'm studying MA in Fashion Marketing at Nottingham Trent University in the UK.
After graduating with my bachelor course, I wanted to study more about marketing area so I started studying for my master course.
I took my bachelor's degree in Fashion Design & Marketing at Seoul Women's University. And also I studied in Business Communication (Division of Communications & Media) as a double majoring. As I took the Fashion Marketing track, I became more interested in Advertising & Public Relations so I chose Business Communication as my double major. During my bachelor's degree, I could gain working experience as a marketing supporter, sales assistant, editor, journalist and creator. These experiences helped me to become a fashion specialist. And fortunately, I could get the early graduation in 7 semesters with high grade.
After graduating with my bachelor course, I got the opportunity to work at Etro as an intern for Merchandising and E-commerce team. During that time, my work was gathering & analysing sales, making the products map book, analysing trends, merchandising products for E-commerce sites and so on. Through this experience, I could grow my ability in MS Excel and PowerPoint. And I could fill in my work experience in merchandising that I lacked. Working at Etro was one of the most meaningful experiences.
After my master's degree, I want to have job experience in marketing in various industries, not limited to the fashion industry for my career in the future.
My strengths are Communication, Analysing & Catching Trends, Managing Projects, Data Analysis, Journalistic skills, and Teamwork.
Experience
Alongside my studies, I gained experience working part-time and as a working student with various global brands.
As a sales assistant at global fashion brands like Gentle Monster, Sacai, Lucky Chouette, H&M, and ZARA, I engaged directly with consumers and developed skills in visual merchandising and communication. This experience enhanced my customer management, sales skills, and interpersonal skills.
Additionally, working as a marketing and editor working student for brands such as Levi's and Seoul Showroom, I further developed the practical skills and competencies needed for my roles.
After graduating from Seoul Women's University, I supported the merchandising and e-commerce teams at Etro Korea as an intern. I enhanced my skills in data analysis and visualisation using Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Analytics through tasks such as sales consolidation and analysis, product map book creation, trend analysis, and curation. Supporting both teams allowed me to acquire the skills necessary for each role, and through teamwork, I proposed creative ideas and strengthened my project management skills.
Education
At Seoul Women's University, I majored in Fashion Design & Marketing, gaining knowledge in fashion design, materials, marketing, and costume history. It involved the luxury and beauty industries. Through practical projects, I developed skills in styling, fashion trend analysis, and merchandising, complementing my theoretical understanding of fashion design and marketing. This experience broadened my passion for marketing and communication, leading me to double major in the Division of Communications & Media, where I studied journalism, advertising, PR, and video making. I also specialised in Business Communication, gaining a deeper understanding of marketing, advertising, and PR, while honing my teamwork, leadership, and project management skills through numerous group projects.
Currently, I'm pursuing a master's degree in Fashion Marketing at Nottingham Trent University, where I've expanded my knowledge in fashion marketing, luxury brand management, international fashion management, and fashion communication. Working with colleagues from diverse nationalities and backgrounds has helped me improve my international communication skills. Through both academic and practical experiences at Nottingham Trent University, I've further deepened my understanding of the marketing field.
