Amar Iqbal

I am a MRI Radiographer currently working staticly after spending 18 months working mobile. I have proficiency in both GE and Siemens scanners, both old and new. At present I am undergoing inhouse CT training with the hope of being a fully competent cross sectional radiographer. 

Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust- Diagnostic Radiographer (20nd July 2020 to 17th January 2021)

I began my career as a radiographer at Leeds General where I honed the skills I learnt as a student radiographer. Beginning at Leeds at the height of the pandemic was difficult as I had to adjust to major trauma as well as navigating the begining of my professional career. 

Bradford Teaching Hospital Trust- Diagnostic Radiographer (18th January 2021 to 26th September 2021

My role at Bradford has been a continuation of my job at Leeds. The benefits of Bradford have been that I have been rotated into fluoroscopy where my role has included pain lists, gastric band adjustments and screening for barium swallows. I have performed pain lists using both a C-Arm and fluoroscopic kit. At BRI I have managed my outpatient lists, portered ward patients and taken part in out of hours trauma and urology theatre.

InHealth-  MRI Radiographer (27th September 2021 to 04th June 2023

I began my journey with InHealth as a trainee MRI radiographer working as a mobile radiographer across England and Scotland. I have completed modules such as physics, scanning protocol and anatomy as part of this training programme, through which I gained proficiency in both Siemens and GE scanners and have used a broad range of their scanners both old and new. Further to this,I have experience operating both the old and new Siemens software, as such I am competent on the more recent versions in Sola and Aera whilst maintaining competency of the older scanners such as the Avanto.

InHealth contracts allowed me to spend considerable time serving both NHS clients and private patients. Sandwell Hospitals entire MRI department is operated by InHealth staff, through this I was able to navigate the requirements of a busy MRI department, scanning inpatients, arranging porters whilst also scanning routine outpatient appointments.

My current employment has been a continuation of previous employment, such as learning different protocols for different consultants, familiarising myself with variations in technique such as angling for endometriosis for one consultant and keeping plans straight for another to knowing how to raise concerns regarding pathology. I am competent in most examinations both routine and dynamic, with training expected with my current employer in cacardiaand breast imaging soon. Furthermore, I am also training for CT whilst also undertaking specialist cardiac and colon training early next ye
