My name is Andrew McGarrity, and I am a freelance Director of Photography/Lighting Camera Operator

I am currently located in Walthamstow, London, and I have extensive experience in various areas of cinematography, including documentaries, commercials, short-form narratives, corporate and digital content, music videos, and reality TV shows as well as operating on long-form narratives. I have experience in working collaboratively with large crews as well as working solo with a camera or multi-cameras, lighting kit, and sound.

I strive to deliver the highest quality visuals for every project I work on. I am confident that my experience, skills, technical knowledge, and creativity as well as my commitment to achieving excellence in my craft make me a strong candidate.

Experience

I have extensive experience in various areas of cinematography, including documentaries, commercials, short-form narratives, corporate and digital content, music videos, and content for television, as well as operating on long-form narratives. I am very comfortable working collaboratively with large crews as well as working solo with a camera or multi-cameras, lighting kit, and sound.

I started assisting DOPs on various drama series, music videos, and run-and-gun style shoots. I then progressed to shooting reality television, music videos, and documentaries, as well as run & gun-style shoots. 

I now DOP commercials, corporate and digital content, documentaries and narrative pieces.

Education

I have studied photography in London and art direction and editing in Johannesburg.
