Teacher of Computer Science and IT

After completing my Master’s degree, I pursued my other main interest which was teaching. I successfully applied to a Lecturer in Computer Science at an A level college in Pakistan. My main responsibilities included, preparing, and researching lecture content, delivering presentations, assessing my students progress, and supervising students’ projects. I had also contributed well in team meetings to improve the standards of teaching and meet the demands of the college ethos. 

I have a long track record of sound Computer Science academia. Having always been fascinated by computers and their function from a young age at school, I pursued my interest in Computer Science to Master’s Level. Through academia, I developed an in-depth knowledge and skills base in the ever-expanding field of Computer Science. My journey to embrace Computer Science as my specialist subject did not stop there. After relocating to the UK, I further enhanced my expertise in Computing and IT by enrolling on to a Postgraduate in IT (PGC) at the University of Liverpool which I passed with distinction. 

During my undergraduate and postgraduate studies, I developed an in-depth understanding of Computer Systems, Computational thinking, algorithms, and programming. For my thesis I completed a research project entitled “Information seeking behaviour at Quaid e Azam University” where the study made effort to determine the general pattern of information seeking: the sources consulted and the impact of technology on the students and teacher’s information seeking behaviour. The study also provided a model of information seeking behaviour for future work.

My passion for teaching further propelled me to enrol on to a PGCE Secondary Programme. I have now successfully completed and gained qualified teacher status and benefitting from the secondary phase teaching experience.
