Belhadj Lachachi

As a scientific researcher in Chemistry, I have experience in synthetic organometallic chemistry and catalysis involving platinum group metals. I am currently working on a research project using Earth Abundant Metal Catalysis as part of the Lynam Chemistry group. Interested in inorganic and organometallic chemistry, catalysis and sustainability.

I graduated with an MSc and a PhD in Chemistry from UoY working on platinum organometallic complexes as catalysts in the hydrosilylation of alkenes.
My experience as an Inorganic chemist at the University of York allowed me to gain a large experience in the synthesis, purification (recrystallisation, column chromatography, extraction) and characterization techniques (NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis, Fluorescence, MS and XRD) and to develop expertise in handling air and moisture sensitive organic and inorganic materials (Schlenk line, glove box) and degassing solvents (nitrogen/argon sparging, freeze pump thaw).

I am highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed to personal development. I have excellent communication and presentation skills, analytical, team working and problem solving skills. I am eager to apply my expertise in synthetic organometallic chemistry and catalysis to support the technical requirements and able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team in order to contribute to innovation and sustainability.

I gained over 8 years experience in industry working for chemical companies and LNG plants as process engineer. Furthermore, I have 5 years experience in teaching Chemistry to undergraduate students at the University of Oran.
