Project Manager - Innovation Funding and Enterprise Support

South West Academic Health Science Network (SW AHSN) (May 2021- present)

Key achievements:

  • Successfully manage and deliver £375,000 grant fund to support digital health innovations
  • Develop, market, coordinate and deliver  a programme of workshops to support early-stage innovators navigate the health and care sector as a marketplace
  • Build and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including two lead partner Universities, local businesses and national government staff through effective communication and reporting.  .

Impact in role: Grant funding support to c.35 projects through application advice, approval governance and project oversight, exceeding match funding target by leveraging c.£250,000 in match funding in the process. Created and developed administrative processes in order to ensure rigorous auditing requirements were met from partners and commissioners.  

 

Sports Centre Manager 

Plympton Academy (April 2021 – May 2021)

Key achievements: 

  • Manage and maintain sports centre facilities by implementing high quality facilities management processes
  • Ensure safe practice for staff and customers on site ensuring health and safety breaches and  accidents were less likely to occur
  • Provide reports to Director of Sport on usage and customer feedback

Impact in role: Enabled Sports Centre to remain open amid staff shortages and through  COVID periods. Introduced iterative feedback processes for customers to feedback on their experiences on site.  

 

Premier League Kicks Project Officer

Argyle Community Trust (October 2019 – March 2021)

Key acheivements: 

  • Managed delivery of 15 place-based sports sessions for 1,200 young people aged 8 – 18 across Plymouth in 6 areas of deprivation
  • Create strong relationships with local, regional and national stakeholders to deliver holistic development programme centred on young people, resulting in increasing participation figures from 750 to 1,200 in just six months.
  • Deliver wider opportunities for young people, including volunteering and employment opportunities and Social Action projects, with three social action projects delivered, four volunteers and one employed staff member from the programme.

Impact in role: Increased level of provision across Plymouth and investment by £1,500 in the project from local and regional partners. Created new governance structure through steering group with key stakeholders to provide oversight and support continuous development. Created quarterly period of review and created regular staff training sessions to 10 staff members to provide high quality activity.  Created and led South West working group of PL Kicks Officers to share knowledge and coordinate projects.

Active Leisure Development Assistant 

Teignbridge District Council April 2016 – October 2019 (0.5 FTE December 2018 – October 2019)

Impact in role: Managed the largest community sports event in the South West, with 14 different sports with over 1500 participants and 100 volunteers from across Devon & Cornwall. Managed the Teignbridge Sports & Community Awards with more than 45 shortlisted nominees from across the district, attracting over £10,000 in sponsorship from local businesses.  

Sports Development Officer

Torquay United Community Sports Trust (0.5 FTE August 2016 – January 2017)

Impact in role: Successful in attracting £30,000 in grant funding to support delivery of a wide range of projects including the successful Get On Track programme in partnership with Active Devon and the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust. Established key working relationships with stakeholders such as Torbay Council and Active Devon. Overhauled system for data collection and recording evidence to support organisational learning and meet commissioner’s needs.

Education

2013  3 A levels – and 2 AS levels.

2010 8 GCSEs of grade A-C including English, Maths and Science

  • Proficient in Office 365 and other IT systems
  • Excellent with Zoom/Microsoft Teams in virtual meetings and training
  • Experience of various CRM systems to manage data and information
  • Currently sitting on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion working group
  • Attended Culture of Feedback training
  • Experienced in adhering to GDPR, with experience of dealing with sensitive data
  • Experience of health and safety requirements in the work place, including risk assessments and risk management
