Experience

Specialist Radiographer and Radiation Protection Supervisor with over 16 years experience of working in a large major trauma centre. I am a non-medical referrer alongside my extended role of non-medical referrer trainer for staff internal and external to the trust, to enable them to undertake this essential role. I train and mentor students and new staff, while undertaking teaching for the updated IR(ME)R 2017 regulations, whilst also raising awareness of the profile of the Diagnostic Radiographer.
My role involves general radiography, where I undertake theatre, mobiles, fracture clinic, chest clinic, ED, resus, covid areas and dental x-rays.

I specialise in the Cardiac Catheter Lab where my role involves co-ordinating the radiology aspects of the unit; organising rotas, stock control and procurement, radiation safety, undertaking and reviewing risk assessments and SOP’s. I cover sickness and annual leave at short notice, being very flexible, changing shifts at short notice and working overtime due to staffing shortages.
