Services offered

For the past fifteen years, I have dedicated my career to working with clients one-to-one in environments that demand therapeutic skills, empathy, and evidence-based practice. Across more than 18,000 individual sessions and countless consultations, I have supported people to make sustained changes in their health, fitness, and mindset. These conversations, often centred on motivation, behaviour change, and self-perception, have consistently demonstrated to me the transformative power of psychological principles in everyday life. It is this lived professional experience that now motivates me to formalise my knowledge and pursue the MSc Psychology (Conversion) as the foundation for progression to practitioner training.

My work as a personal trainer, coach, and consultant has been far more than exercise instruction. Clients present with a complex blend of goals and barriers: low confidence, anxiety, resistance to change, and difficulties with self-regulation. Each consultation has required me to adapt my communication style, apply motivational interviewing techniques, and use structured goal-setting to encourage sustainable behaviour change. Over time I have come to realise that the most powerful results come not from physical programmes alone, but from addressing underlying thought patterns and the psychological drivers of action. This has placed me in a position comparable to an applied practitioner working therapeutically, even if outside formal psychology.

Prior to entering the health and coaching sector, I worked in executive recruitment. That period developed my ability to build rapport quickly, understand people’s motivations, and assess suitability through in-depth, one-to-one interviews. It also sharpened my professional skills in questioning, active listening, and evidence-based decision making — all of which continue to serve me when working with clients in health and wellbeing contexts. Together, my recruitment and coaching careers have provided an unusually rich background in human behaviour, communication, and change processes across both professional and personal settings.

Academically, I hold a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Humanities with Philosophy from the University of Hertfordshire and am currently studying my MSc in Psychology at Oxford Brookes with completion due June 2026.
