Bruno Gocan

My name is Joao Bruno Oliveira Gocan and I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Greenwich. Throughout my academic journey, I developed a passion for mechanical engineering and acquired in-depth knowledge of computer-aided design and manufacturing, control and mechatronics, engineering management, product design and development, and engineering mechanics.

I am a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for providing support in all stages of production cycles to meet requirements, under the supervision of senior engineers. I am skilled in creating and reviewing technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software, and excel at developing and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments and technologies in the industry.

During my academic career, I coordinated 10+ group projects at the university level and attained grades of 80% and above. I was also a finalist of Generator's Enterprise Challenge 2022, and a semi-finalist of the Mayor's Entrepreneur 2022, where I leveraged exceptional leadership and teamwork skills.

I am currently working as a Quality Assurance Engineer at EV Financial Solutions, where I am responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of the company's financial planning software. My role includes testing and evaluating software features, identifying and reporting defects, and working closely with the development team to ensure that software meets the needs of the company's clients.

Outside of work and academics, I enjoy networking, developing strong relationships with mentors, and keeping up-to-date with the latest industry news and advancements. I also hold certifications in Python, SolidWorks, and have completed 100% of MATLAB Onramp self-paced training course.

I am excited to bring my skills, experience, and passion for mechanical engineering to a challenging role where I can contribute to the advancement and growth of an organization.

In addition, I am an excellent communicator and possess strong problem-solving, leadership, and technical skills. I have experience coordinating group projects, and have received several awards and honours for my achievements, including being a finalist in the Mayor's Entrepreneur Competition and the Generator's Enterprise Challenge. Currently, I am working as a Quality Assurance Engineer at EV Financial Solutions, where I am responsible for testing and evaluating the company's financial planning software. I have also gained experience as an Engineering Intern at Negentra, Inc., where I worked on real-life projects, developing image processing algorithms for lung cancer detection. Overall, I have a strong technical proficiency in a range of software and programs including SolidWorks, Python, AutoCAD, and MATLAB VBA.

I completed my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Greenwich in July 2022. During my degree, I learned about design and materials, mechanical and engineering principles, and engineering mathematics. I also gained in-depth knowledge of computer-aided design and manufacturing, control and mechatronics, engineering management, product design and development, and engineering mechanics. I graduated with an Upper Second Degree with Honours and completed all mechanical engineering courses with excellent grades.
