Caitlan Farrell

Hi my name is Caitlan Farrell I am very intrigued in your job advertisement I feel I am the perfect candidate to provide the required needs. I have over 5 years experience throughout the care industry working within care homes supported living as well as care in the community and the NHS. I am very ambitious and hardworking and I have a true passion for my job. As  i have had personal experiences throughout my own family within mental health I therefore have a lot of ambition to help others.

Throughout my years of working in health care I have gained many skills such as being a good listener and having a good understanding of how others are feeling throughout having poor health. When working in the community i was required to work with new service users in the community getting to build up trust and a strong trusting relationship as I worked in the community providing care door to door I have a great understanding of working with certain individuals in the public. While working for we care group I was required to work as part of a team when completing pad changes for those who are bed bound when working in the care industry it is important to not to do any personal care alone to those who are bed bound. ( not mobile) A time I worked as a team was mainly when I was working with my other staff as a team to help hoist service users safely to and from base. This is incredibly dangerous and requires TEAMWORK. Iam able to get instructions given to me and the job will get done as I am a really quick learner this helps me to adapt to new responsibilities in my work life. As working in the community alone for multiple years I am used to being given a job and completing it as soon as possible without any assistance. This requires good communication skills as a job needs completing good communication is required ensuring all needs are being met.

I have worked with challenging aggressive dementia patients and due to good communication had a very good outcome no one was hurt or upset being able to communicate with any patients is essential as if there is no communication no job will be completed!
