Customer Assistant | Tesco

Working alongside a small team of eight within the Stock Control and Fresh department, we each have our responsibilities to ensure the jobs across the store get done effectively. We support each other on days when certain jobs are given priority fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment that contributed to the overall effectiveness of the Stock Control department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Anticipated customer needs and provided them with high quality service while upholding company standards and values to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for specific tasks related to stock control, including monitoring stock levels, under and over stocking and conducting regular date checks on fresh products. 
• Coordinating with product brand reps to undergo stock checks to maximise sales.
• Daily investigations regarding shrink levels by looking into any loss or gains of stock.
• Undertaking a store gap scan, ensuring all products are filled and availability is high.
• Making sure every evening there are no out-of-date products and doing price reductions for those products which have 1 day left until the expiration date.

Casual Catering | AECC/TECA

Provided catering services for private businesses, public catering, dinners, concerts, and conferences, whilst serving customers in a fast-paced and highly pressured environment.

Amazon Seller | Company Owner - CertifiedUK

November 2022 - Present

Successfully operating an Amazon store with my LTD company which has just become VAT registered. Managing all financial aspects including tracking revenue, expenses, cash flow management, budgeting and analysing financial statements. Managing inventory levels to optimise supply chains. 

Key Achievements:

• Reached £88,000 in sales since I started back in November last year 2022 with an initial investment of £500.
• Built connections with wholesale suppliers from around the country.
• I have developed my knowledge immensely of how businesses operate.
• Address VAT, income tax, and other tax-related issues in compliance with UK regulations

I have been managing this side hustle simultaneously with my university studies and part-time job at Tesco. My involvement with Amazon has provided me with valuable business and accounting experience, essential for preparing myself for a future finance role. This side hustle has been my passion and weekend project. Now that it is highly automated, I can dedicate my full attention to excelling in my new role.

Young Enterprise

Participated in ‘young enterprise’ in which my team sold scented candles which we all contributed to making ourselves, we started with nothing but purchased materials and produced multiple different smells of candles that could be sold. I was appointed as the production manager of the group, in addition to being involved in selling the products at several stalls. This experience helped me understand the basics of how to run a business.
