Charlie Raufi

I am an enthusiastic and energised person with a love for the great outdoors. I have a Jack Russell that I enjoy taking for long walks in the New Forest and along local beaches.

I also appreciate relaxing at home with a good book, and I love being creative. As an artist, I enjoy photography as well as mixed media art.

My passion for the past 15 years has been the research and development of support in education for SEN students and how (at times) there is a lack of it in mainstream schools.

I am an experienced educator with over 25 years of teaching, specialising in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs across KS3, KS4, and post-16. Throughout my career, I have developed a wealth of expertise in creating inclusive learning environments, tailoring support to meet diverse needs, and helping learners achieve their full potential. I am now looking to progress my career within further education, where I can use my extensive experience to support learners in the next stage of their development, contribute to inclusive practice, and continue making a positive impact on young people’s lives.

I have been an educator for the past 25 years, working in a variety of settings: community art projects alongside local authorities in Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. I completed my BA in Fine Art in 2001 with a 2nd class honours. I then went on to complete my teacher training (PGCE) in 2018, as I felt this would be a more sustainable way to advance my teaching career.

For the past 16 years I have worked in a private SEN school in the New Forest. I worked my way up from art teacher, head of department to assistant head.
