I am an Experienced, dedicated, hardworking Biomedical Scientist with a Current HCPC Registration, BMS Accredited Degree , 7years experience working within a medical laboratory with specialty in Medical microbiology. Although no UK laboratory experience, I look forward to obtain it as a medical Laboratory Assistant or Biomedical scientist if given the opportunity.

I am a fast learner, detail oriented, diligent, a team worker, knowledgeable and experienced in the use of laboratory technology like the PCR, ELISA and also proficient in the use of LIMS and other computer applications like the Microsoft.

I have good communication skills, an understanding of good laboratory practices and guidelines and also knowledgeable in the Laboratory Quality management system in accordance with the ISO 15189 standardization 

In addition, I am fully compliant to work in the United Kingdom with a valid passport/Visa and a DBS check.

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist at the Defence Reference Laboratory in Abuja (April 2019 to February 2024), with a focus on microbiology and molecular testing, as well as managing lab processes and research. Key responsibilities include:

• Microbiology and Molecular Testing: Performed microscopy, culture, and sensitivity testing on samples like urine, sputum, stool, and body fluids. Conducted HIV-1 RNA viral load assays and Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) using advanced equipment like ROCHE COBAS.
• Sample and Data Management: Processed viral load and EID specimens using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and managed biological samples for local and international shipment under IATA regulations.
• Research Support: Processed and cryopreserved Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMC) for research protocols, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Quality Control and Logistics: Monitored equipment, performed quality assurance, validated new methods, and managed laboratory commodities to prevent stockouts. Actively contributed to ISO 15189 accreditation and its maintenance.
• Leadership and Documentation: Prepared scopes of work, SOPs, and laboratory reports, handled procurement, and participated in strategic planning. Engaged in quality improvement initiatives and safety audits.

Previously, at the Defence Headquarters Medical Center Abuja (April 2018 to March 2019) and University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (February 2017 to March 2018), my duties in the medical microbio laboratory included bacterial microscopy, culture, sensitivity testing, and a range of diagnostic procedures for malaria, tuberculosis, HIV, and other pathogens. Additionally, I ensured equipment calibration, quality controls, and timely result delivery to hospital departments, supporting key programs like HIV PMTCT.

In all roles, I demonstrated expertise in diagnostics, lab management, and quality assurance.
