About Chun-Man Lee:
Dr Chun-Man Lee is Consultant Dermatologist based in Surrey. He is currently service lead in Cutaneous Allergy and Inflammatory Diseases for adults and children, as well as Clinical Research Lead for Dermatology at Frimley Park Hospital and Centres within the NHS Service Network. He subspecialises in the use of Biologics for management of atopic eczema, chronic spontaneous urticaria, and chronic plaque psoriasis, and conduct and audit patch testing service within the NHS.
Dr Lee was graduated in London (Barts and the London School of Medicine) in 2006, and spent much of his early career working in the British Army as a fully-commissioned Officer, practicing Family and Occupational (Military) medicine. He retired and joined the NHS in 2013 and began his pursuit for a permanent role in Dermatology and has worked in Dermatology full time at Frimley Park Hospital since 2016, following brief spells of posts in various medical specialties as a locum medical registrar in UK.
Dr Lee has published numerous well-cited articles following studying Masters in Aesthetic Medicine and Skin Ageing in University of Manchester, for which he attained a merit. He has been invited to speak in a number of countries and offered his expertise in cosmeceuticals in advisory board as well as teaching of trainees and peers in clinical Dermatology. He has continued a role as Teaching Fellow at the University of Surrey, and Group Tutor for University of South Wales offering lectures and assessment materials for students for three to four years, and continues to strive for excellence at teaching by taking additional clinical supervisors training and consultant mentorship. Dr Lee hopes to sustain a healthy number of specialists within the NHS by continuous education and motivation of today’s young doctors who haven’t decided where to go in their early careers.
As a father of three, he keeps himself very busy with house chores and his favourite hobby is indoor rock-climbing. His favourite pastime is Japanese Anime and Learning a new language.

01/04/2022 – Present FRIMLEY PARK HOSPITAL Substantive (Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust) Consultant Dermatologist and Clinical Research Lead in Dermatology. Substantive Consultant (10.5PA), following formalising CESR on 22/01/24. Clinical Lead in Cutaneous Allergy, Consultant Dermatologist in Paediatric Dermatology, Biologic and Inflammatory Disease subspecialty clinics. I am currently clinical research lead in Dermatology Department at Frimley Park Hospital and Principle Investigator in two international, multicentred, observational studies.
My role (as Clinical Research Lead) is not onerous. Activities include:
- Reviewing expressions of interest for research studies and supporting prioritisation (Dermatology)
- Being an advocate for research within Dermatology and encouraging trainees to be involved
- Representing Dermatology at twice yearly research steering group meeting Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust
4/6/2016 – 31/03/2023 FRIMLEY PARK HOSPITAL. Speciality Doctor in Dermatology. 10 programmed activities per week, including: Outpatient Clinics – in the first 2 years of Specialty Doctor job role, a job rotation in subspecialties including genital dermatology, contact dermatitis/patch testing, paediatric dermatology, severe psoriasis and biologics clinics, minor ops procedures, in addition to emergency admissions, ward referrals, skin cancer MDT meetings (both Local and SWT Consortium). I am a current lead clinician in Patch Testing and Skin Allergy Service taking clinics and orders of up to date test allergen series. I run Biologic and Severe Inflammatory Skin Diseases clinics manage and initiate funding request for Biologic therapy. My role in Education includes organising and chairing departmental educational meetings including weekly Journal Club meeting, Speciality Training Events opened to GPs and trainees from both within the Trust and Region. Personal admin at work includes, but is not limited to, initiating and follow up application for funding request for Biologic therapy (HiCost Drugs on Blueteq™), responding to GPs with queries about patients and triaging referrals with an online system (Advise & Guidance) and regular Audits and/or Quality Improvement Projects in relevant subsepcialties.
Sept – Oct 2022 Churchill Hospital, Oxford University Hospitals Trust and King Edwards VII Hospital Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. Sabbatical: I took out a six-week sabbatical leave between September 5 and October 28 as a clinical observer for reflection of learning in some areas, as well as an honorary physician embedded in the tertiary centre for assessments and to enhance experience in practice. During this period I full-filled the required number of clinic appointments, collected assessment tools and feedbacks by supervising consultants, each in their own subspecialty, and reflected on my progress as well as learning outcomes. Paid leave for six weeks was granted by Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust with full support for my endeavour in attainment of CESR (equivalence). Other subspecialties full-filled included phototherapy and photoallergy, cutaneous allergy, photodynamic therapy (PDT) sessions, vulval dermatology, chronic wound and tissue viability, cutaneous laser therapy, and psychodermatology in various centres of excellence.
May 2017 – Oct 2022 UNIVERSITY OF SURREY. Honorary Teaching Fellow, PG Physician Associate Programme. Duties and responsibilities include providing teaching (a minimum of 5 90min long lectures for each year group), case-based discussions within the scope of Dermatology, setting MCQs, as well as invigilation of clinical exams (OSCE) at the end of each academic year.
Jan - May 2018 UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH WALES. Tutoring in Module 4: inflammatory diseases, PGDip Dermatology. PGDip Derm Course consists of 6 modules; with each module consisting of 6 weeks of study. For each modules students are divided into groups of 10-15 and allocated a tutor. As a tutor I will guide my group throughout the module and allocate marks for each of the module activities and assignments.

2/11/15-20/12/15 ST PETER’S HOSPITAL. Locum Registrar in Orthogeriatrics. I worked in standard shifts as well as out-of-hour on-call hours for medical SpRs (weekends/nights). Each standard day begins with a trauma meeting where new admissions admitted under the orthopaedic team are discussed, followed by a consultant/SpR lead ward round daily. Here I continue to provide regular teaching sessions to junior doctors and colleagues.
