About Cléa Bloch:
I have dedicated over a decade to the field of nursing and healthcare. I advanced my career by initially serving as a district nurse sister, and later transitioned into a ward manager, where I managed large teams of clinical and non-clinical staff. This experience not only deepened my understanding of healthcare delivery but also honed my leadership skills. I was responsible for ensuring that my team provided individualised care to patients and service users, making them feel valued, cared for, and above all, safe.
One of the cornerstones of my practice has been my commitment to developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours of my team. I believe that the quality of patient care is directly linked to the continuous growth and development of healthcare professionals. In my previous roles, I actively supported and encouraged my team members to enhance their abilities. This support included guidance on their career development and creating opportunities for them to expand their skills. It was deeply satisfying to witness my team members grow in confidence and competence, which ultimately translated into better patient care.
In healthcare, effective communication is paramount. My experience as a district nurse sister, where I often acted as a triage point of contact, reinforced the importance of clear and concise communication. It was my responsibility to assess new referrals, prioritise cases, and organise my team's workload accordingly. This role required me to communicate not only with my team but also with external healthcare providers, including GPs, community matrons, palliative care specialists, and social workers. I became proficient in liaising with professionals at all levels, ensuring seamless collaboration for the benefit of our patients.
Moreover, my ability to build positive, genuine, and long-term relationships with people at all levels of the healthcare system has been a driving force behind my successful career. This skill has allowed me to communicate effectively and collaboratively, ensuring the delivery of an excellent service. I recognise that the healthcare sector is a complex ecosystem that thrives on effective teamwork and the coordinated effort of various professionals. My ability to foster strong relationships has been instrumental in creating a collaborative atmosphere in which everyone works together towards a common goal - the well-being of patients.
I am also financially aware and understand the importance of making efficient use of available resources, be it human resources, information, networks, or budgets. I have worked in healthcare settings long enough to know that resources are often limited and need to be optimised. My financial acumen has allowed me to streamline processes and allocate resources effectively to achieve the best possible outcomes.
One aspect of my practice that I take immense pride in is my commitment to open feedback exchange and timely problem resolution. In healthcare, where situations can become highly challenging, it's vital to address issues in a cheerful and friendly manner. This approach not only helps to maintain a positive and supportive work environment but also ensures that problems are resolved quickly, allowing the team to refocus on patient care. I have always believed that a supportive and collaborative team environment is the foundation of excellent healthcare provision.
As a senior practitioner, I have consistently supported policy changes and introduced new guidelines in various healthcare teams. My approach to leadership is not just about managing; it's about empowering individuals to embrace change and innovation. I have encouraged my staff to be open to new clinical skills, adapting to new systems under time constraints, and seeking opportunities for professional development. The ability to adapt is a quality that I bring with me to any work environment, enabling me to thrive in various professional settings.
It has always been my practice to be supportive and encouraging to my team, and I am committed to bringing that same spirit to your team. Addressing issues and concerns that may hinder personal and organisational goals is a responsibility I take seriously.
I have had the privilege of coaching, mentoring, and training numerous healthcare professionals, and I have seen firsthand what it takes to make learning happen. I am dedicated to sharing knowledge and skills in a way that promotes critical thinking and evidence-based practice. The ability to provide clinical and professional expertise to colleagues in a call centre setting is one that I am well-equipped for.
My adaptability and ability to work effectively under pressure are qualities that I have consistently demonstrated throughout my career. Healthcare is a dynamic field where situations can change rapidly, and I have always been able to adjust seamlessly to new challenges. This adaptability has allowed me to provide the highest standard of care to patients under various circumstances.
Compliance with local and national policies, procedures, and protocols has always been a priority in my practice. I am well-versed in adhering to clinical governance standards, including audit and customer satisfaction programs. My commitment to continuous development and my understanding of quality service will contribute to your mission of providing the best possible care.
I firmly believe that maintaining a professional code of conduct is non-negotiable in healthcare. It's a commitment I take seriously, and I understand the importance of representing the trust both internally and externally. I am dedicated to upholding professional standards and ensuring that the organisation’s reputation remains impeccable.
I bring a wealth of clinical knowledge, management experience, and a deep commitment to providing excellent patient care. My experience as a ward manager, where I had managerial oversight over clinical and non-clinical staff, has equipped me with the skills and knowledge required to manage teams effectively. This includes aspects like recruitment, attendance management, performance management, and appraisal. I am confident in my ability to provide strong leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring that they deliver the best possible care to patients and service users.
Thank you for considering my application, and I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can contribute to your team’s continued success.
