Accomplished sound engineer, educator, and music industry professional with over 10 years of experience in live sound operations, tour management, and curriculum development. I am an experienced sound engineer, educator, and music industry professional with over a decade of expertise across live sound, tour management, and curriculum development.

As a PGCE Lecturer at Deep Blue Sound, I developed and delivered engaging lectures on sound engineering, acoustic theory, and health & safety, while also providing mentorship to students. I taught a wide range of qualifications, from RSL to Undergraduate Degrees, with a focus on preparing students for careers in the creative industries. I also played a key role in curriculum design, ensuring that the content was both relevant to the industry and supportive of students’ growth.

In my freelance career, I have worked as a Live Sound Engineer on international tours, managing sound operations for major artists and large-scale events. My role involved coordinating logistics, including equipment setup, sound checks, and troubleshooting, while collaborating closely with production teams to deliver high-quality sound for audiences worldwide. I have developed expertise in a wide range of digital and analogue sound systems used in global venues.

In addition, through my work with Nytys Promotions, I have organised over 100 successful concerts and managed both UK and international tours for signed artists. This included negotiating with venues and labels, handling logistics, and directing renowned music festivals.

My diverse experience combines technical sound engineering with strong project management skills, as well as a commitment to educating and empowering the next generation of professionals in the music industry.

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Education at Plymouth University, where my qualitative research focuses on exploring the variations in sound engineering education across the UK, Denmark, and Germany. Specifically, I’m investigating how experience-based, student-led learning approaches can better prepare students for freelance careers in the creative industries. This research aims to identify best practices in education and how systems can more effectively support students transitioning into independent careers.

I also hold a Master of Arts in Education from Plymouth University, where I specialised in curriculum design, post-colonial theory, and alternative/vocational education. My studies in this area have given me a deep understanding of innovative teaching methods and the importance of broadening access to learning opportunities for all students.

In addition, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Level 7), which provided me with a solid foundation in curriculum planning, equality and diversity, and quality improvement in further education. This qualification has been instrumental in shaping my teaching philosophy and approach.

Earlier in my academic career, I achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Sound Engineering (2.1) and a Foundation Degree in Live Sound, where I developed my technical expertise in sound production and live event management. I also hold various qualifications in music technology, including Pro Tools and Avid Venue certification, which have enhanced my practical and theoretical knowledge in sound engineering.
