Dani Winkless

I have just completed my Forensic Science BSc Hons degree, with a placement year. I achieved a First, as well as a first-class dissertation. 

While at De Montfort University, I completed a placement year where I was hired as a Forensic Support Officer, for the Forensic Submissions Department of Devon and Cornwall Police. Within this year in the Police I was handling exhibits, booking cases in and out, preparing exhibits for the laboratory, handling firearms, liaising with officers, maintaining chain of custody for exhibits and much more. This year in the industry helped me improve my written and oral skills as well as develop my confidence. I loved working within the Forensic Submissions team as I was surrounded by endless amounts of knowledge that helped me enhance my Forensic Science expertise. 

I achieved a First Class Degree in Forensic Science, With a Placement Year, from De Montfort University, with a First Class Dissertation titled; The Use of 1H NMR to Decipher the Different Concentrations of Household Bleach Needed for the Elimination of DNA Bases: Adenine and Thymine.
