About Dhanushka Kapadia:

I am Dhanushka and have been prospering in the fashion industry for the last 11 years, predominantly on the supply side. 

I have worked from a young age polishing my knowledge on both buying and selling within the fashion world. I started off as a merchandiser and worked through the years and now comfortably I head UK and EU sales for Geniemode. 

 

Having learnt basics in my earlier job as a merchandiser, I was able to grasp the key elements of building relationships and how important critical paths play in all orders. I then very quickly turned this around, being able to handle my own accounts at DNM Fashions where I was given charge of some of our major Denim accounts including Pull & Bear and Missguided who were doing extremely well at the time. I then took on the Boohoo Denim account and grew this phenomenally for the company where I was privileged enough to hold buying meetings all around the world including Shanghai and Bangladesh. 

 

From here I moved on to one of my favourite companies to work for, Pentex LTD. Here I really learnt the value of speed and no room for any mistakes. I was in charge of two major accounts for Primark, Jersey casuals and Nightwear. These accounts taught me about budgets, building the strongest client / supplier relationships, product development and troubleshooting.

 

After moving to India for a couple of years for personal reasons and working with Pentex as a freelancer while I was there, I built up a very strong network with suppliers in India. I was head hunted and offered a place at a technology company who were building a smart supply chain. I started work with them and worked remotely when I came back to the UK after some time, looking after all UK and EU customers as well as Guess Factory in the US. 

 

I then moved onto Geniemode where I was also headhunted and offered the opportunity to help grow the design team and sales, especially for the UK and EU regions. Having been here for just over 5 months I can confidently say I have brought a lot of revenue and changes to the company to help them keep growing in the right direction. I am now looking for a new opportunity to share my knowledge and grow within this industry.
