About Dom Jinks:
Dom is a cultural professional with over 25 years of experience: a fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, a member of The National Institute of Fundraisers and recently selected as a BMW RISE Fellow for Responsible City Leadership.
He has founded his own theatre company (The British Touring Shakespeare Company), worked at the Globe Theatre, held a range of roles at Arts Council England, developed a new arts & culture service service at the University of Exeter, led Plymouth Culture for 4 years and is currently Head of Creative Places for the University of Exeter which includes being the Executive Director for Exeter Culture. This role involves supporting and shaping the culture across the city and region, connecting internationally and focusing on small number of strategic projects.
Dom secured Plymouth Culture as a national portfolio organisation of Arts Council England in 2018 and supported Plymouth to receive a 39% increase in national core funding from Arts Council England, the largest uplift of any city in England. Dom was also nominated as Arts Fundraiser of year in 2018 in The Management Centre's National Fundraising Awards.
Recently Dom led the process for Exeter to apply to be UNESCO City of Literature. This was successful and Exeter was the only UK city to be named in the 2019 round.
A proud husband & dad of 3 girls, Dom is kept busy with the lives of his daughters. Dom also keeps fit through running trails around the beautiful area of Devon. Dom is still active as a director and musician and established Kennford Productions in 2017 and plays in a local Shanty band. (Bow Movement).
