About Dorotea De Angelis:
I am finishing my master in Medical Engineering Design. At the moment I'm the team leader of two project that have the aim to optimise them performances and also have material more sustainable. I am a person that love challenges and embrace the evaluations of research and generates ideas. I am confident with ISO 14971 , 9001, 13485 . Experience in methology researches, CAD and materials.
Experience
The researching and development of medical products can have a significant impact on the environment. When selecting targets and conducting user research, it is important to consider the potential environmental effects of the product. Collaborating with cross-functional teams is also crucial in ensuring that all aspects of the product's development and use are considered. This includes ensuring that the correct regulations and standards are met, as well as conducting sustainable packaging research. To effectively address these complex problems, it is necessary to apply comprehensive knowledge of mathematics, statistics, natural science, and engineering principles. Being trained in ISO 14971-2019 can also help to ensure that potential risks and hazards are identified and mitigated throughout the product's lifecycle. By taking a holistic approach to product development, it is possible to create medical products that not only benefit patients but also minimize their impact on the environment.
Education
My master in Medical Engineering Design; The modules of Advanced Engineering Applications, Engineering for Medical Applications, Human Physiology and Anatomy, and Physiological Measurement provide a strong foundation for understanding the principles of engineering, manufacturing, materials, and communication within the context of medical devices and healthcare technologies. Additionally, the use of software such as Solidworks is explored to develop and design medical devices. These modules also enable the evaluation of models and tools used in creative engineering design, including Design for X (D4X), Quality in Design tools, Risk Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Students also gain knowledge and understanding of regulatory frameworks, such as the CE marking required for goods sold in the European Economic Area (EEA) and obtaining United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval. The Human Physiology and Anatomy module explores the physiological processes of humans, while the Physiological Measurement module aims to improve analytical skills in different physiological measurement, diagnostics, and therapy techniques such as biomedical transducers, biosensors, ECG, EOG, EMG, and EEG. Additionally, the ENG4 company project provides the opportunity to work as a team leader and engage in research on an NDA project.
