Edouard Arkinstall

During my time studying for my B.Sc. at the University of Sussex where I achieved a 2:1 in Biochemistry I gained experience with a wide range of laboratory techniques (these are listed in my CV). Together with my continued M.Sc. studies at BARTS I feel I am now well positioned to apply my overall scientific know-how to the work-place and start my career working hands-on in the research laboratory. Furthermore, I would like to mention two important personal characteristic which have proven to be highly valuable during my time both at Sussex and BARTS. The first of these is my belief that a winning team needs strong team-players which is a strong trait of mine (this also comes from my time playing American football throughout high school and university). In the end individual success is meaningless if the team as a whole does not reach its desired goal. The second personal characteristic I would like mention are my communication skills which I believe to be strong and have proven highly valuable both in a one-on-one and team setting. Overall I believe my laboratory skills, academic education and personal traits make me well suited to the advertised position of research technician and will allow me to make a major contribution to both the work environment as well as the data output of the research laboratory activities. 

I have no professional experience as I am a recent graduate. Although I have accumulated years of lab experience during my time at university.

I have completed my Bsc in biochemistry at the university of sussex where i obtained a 2:1. During my time I sussex I obtained a large amount of lab experience which i really enjoyed as well. The different lab techniques I learned can be observed in my CV which I have listed. After completing my Bsc i wanted to further myself as a researcher which lead me to obtaining my Msc in cancer & clinical oncology at barts cancer institute in london. As a recent graduate, I am eager to get my foot in door and begin my work experience in lab and contribute myself to a team. I am excited and motivated to begin my career.
