Eilidh Kearsey

I bring a diverse set of transferable skills from hospitality and childcare, developed through hands-on experience. I am highly skilled in using card and till systems and managing extensive menus to deliver excellent customer satisfaction. My bar training, covering local pubs to large wedding receptions, ensures I maintain high- quality service in any environment. Known for my teamwork, I excel at conflict resolution and creating a cohesive team dynamic. Additionally, my full-time au pair role has equipped me to handle both individual and group childcare settings with adaptability and care. I also gained a conversational level in Spanish. 

I am currently in my 2nd year at University of Leeds studying a BA in Religion, Politics, and Society averaging a 2/1 and hoping to improve this in my final years. Through my degree I have fine tuned my analytical skills to allow for close reading of academic texts which allow me to gain an understanding of complex issues and create comparisons between the political, religious, and social spheres that control the world in which we live. Throughout my years at university I have been a key member of the Caledonian Society, having a position as Social Media manager this year and hoping to have another key role next year. This position has taught me to use creative softwares and improved my communication skill in a more practical setting.

Through the shadowing experience, in which I watched in on a legal debate on ‘the duties of banks in relation to online fraud’, application of skills I acquired in previous work experience was possible. Having an experienced lawyer on hand was also useful to aid in the areas that I lacked experience.

Given multiple, online tasks to complete over the course of 5 days gave me buildable skills in; prioritising tasks, writing of professional documents and email writing.
