Ellen Musgrove

Design is something that I have been passionate about since I was a young girl, diving into floor plans and elevations which I continue to do to this day - may that be through day-to-day inspiration or home projects. I began my studies after leaving school, studying with the National Design Academy for ‘Professional Interior Design’, before expanding my knowledge and completing my second Level Three Diploma: ‘Professional Garden Design’. Since then, I have gained certificates in software's such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and SketchUp, with two further softwares to be completed in due course - Vectorworks and Photoshop. Experience I have gained over the past few years have been with a kitchen design showroom and through working in admin with a landscaping and design company. I am looking to grow my skills and experience within the design industry, putting my own flare into work projects as a keen designer. 

Kitchen Design & Sales Apprentice - Throughout this role I learned most aspects that encompass kitchen design, from the knowledge of products, regulations, design process through to the completion of the kitchen installation. In regard to the design aspect, I learned how to draw a design on a design pad and how to utilize this skill whilst liaising with customers. This job taught me a great deal about customer service and enabled me to build my confidence.

Administrator - Whilst working for a landscaping business I not only learnt crucial skills such as preparing quotes/invoices for clients via Microsoft Excel, ordering materials, keeping track of finances and running social media accounts but it also taught me a great deal about the other aspects of garden design. I have learnt what can and can’t be used in the construction of landscapes, the processes involved in costing materials/labour and the overall process of developing an outdoor space in a professional manner. 

Level Three Diploma - ‘Professional Garden Design’ and ‘Professional Interior Design’ both with the National Design Academy.
