Rolls Royce PLC, Project Lead Trent Fleet Services | August 2022 – Present

Project lead working across multiple projects in the Civil Aerospace Trent Fleet Services sector, including supporting and leading several improvement and compliance projects. The role additionally involves leading and managing critical parts projects, integrating several stakeholders and suppliers in order to fulfil parts to deliver engines in Service. 

Key Responsibilities and successes:

  • Integrate schedule for multiple project plans to track critical activities for delivery of upgrades to airline operations and Airbus, and parts supply to overhaul bases
  • Organise and govern cross-functional teams in alignment to programme sprint milestones, reporting and communicating progress and risks. 
  • Lead deployment of new innovative technology to multiple operators, creating numerous benefits for the Civil Aerospace industry.
  • Organise, maintain, and manage critical engineering documentation to completion, including blue chip plans.

 

Rolls Royce PLC, Project Management Degree Apprenticeship | September 2018 – August 2022 

In August 2022, I completed the Rolls-Royce Project Management Degree Apprenticeship scheme, consisting of six work placements (6-12 months per placement) across various Civil Aerospace business areas whilst studying for my degree. This also included a variety of both business and project management training courses and qualifications. Over these placements, I undertook several different roles as listed below:

  • Project Lead in Development and Experimental Engineering Infrastructure team
  • Project Lead in Operations Programme Management Office
  • Programme Controller in the Trent XWB New Product Introduction team
  • Project Controller in the Trent XWB System Design team
  • Project Controller in Product Lifecycle Systems Agile Project Management team
  • Project Controller in Services Transformation team

Key Responsibilities and successes:

  • Organising and leading numerous technical and project reviews with senior stakeholders and teams. 
  • Effective management, review and maintenance of various commercial contracts and procurement agreements.
  • Professionally engaged and communicated project updates and issues, with both internal and external stakeholders, whilst maintaining business reputation and honour with high valued customers and partners.
  • Managed projects and programmes in terms of time, cost and quality, controlling expenditure and producing several status and forecasting reports, to create a full understanding of the project/programme to make critical decisions. 
  • Maintained and managed risk registers and treatment plans, successfully reducing the risk probability and negative business impacts 
  • Controlled and supported the cost management of projects and programmes with budgets ranging from £10k to £440m, ensuring projects aligned to budget constraints, and managing as appropriate.
  • Extracted, analysed and reported key performance indicators to teams, to drive and enhance performance, whilst meeting programme deadlines, resulting in leading a team to improve from being the lowest to highest delivering team within the programme.  
  • Defined, applied and evaluated change control processes to changes within projects/programmes dependent on size and complexity, one of which created a £3m benefit for the company.
  • Developed and analysed project/programme schedules, evaluating and reviewing their integrity, and regularly updating and maintaining these to reflect the project’s progress.
