About Erin Jayes:
I’m a woman-focused professional with a career built on 7 years in education, community-building, and the power of the written word. My background is in primary education and recruitment, but my real passion lies in creating inclusive spaces where people (especially women and girls) can connect and grow. Whether I’m managing a complex school rota, writing copy for purpose-driven brands, or hosting my own empowerment workshops through Get It Girl and In The Pink Corner, I bring a people-first, values-driven approach to everything I do. I love taking complex ideas and turning them into stories and events that actually mean something to people.
Experience
I have spent the last seven years working at the heart of education and community engagement. My career started in the classroom, where I taught across diverse school districts in London and Manchester, learning how to manage high-pressure environments and connect with people from all walks of life. Alongside teaching, I’ve built my own path as a founder and facilitator through Get It Girl and In The Pink Corner, where I handle everything from event logistics and budgeting to creating inclusive spaces for women and girls. Most recently, I’ve moved into education recruitment and freelance copywriting, which has allowed me to sharpen my administrative skills and use my voice to create accessible, engaging content for purpose-driven brands. Whether I’m coordinating a school-wide rota or writing a newsletter for a local community, my work is always about being proactive, organized, and people-focused.
Education
My academic background is rooted in understanding people and systems, starting with my degree in Criminology from the University of Essex, which gave me a strong foundation in research and social analysis. I then moved into the front line of education by completing my Teacher Training with Canterbury Christ Church University, gaining my Qualified Teacher Status. Beyond my formal degrees, I’ve stayed committed to learning things that actually help me on the ground, like becoming a Youth Mental Health Officer and completing a 120-hour TEFL course to improve my communication. I’m also big on staying up to date with digital trends, recently attending a Google AI workshop so I could help my colleagues feel more confident using new technology in their own work.
