About Erin Bruce :
I am passionate about the environment and creating solutions to ongoing issues. In 2020, I began making up-cycled furniture from pre-used Whisky barrels. This has taught my to face problems head on working quickly and efficiently to solve any challenges that come my way. Up-cycling has also taught me how to work both independently and in a team, while maintaining a customer focussed approach within my work. I have had to learn new skills in a timely manner and manage my time efficiently with customer and personal deadlines, all while studying full-time at Fife College. I have an HND in Social Sciences for which I received an A. Currently, I am working towards my Honours Degree in Psychology at the Open University which offers flexibility. I have undertaken many extra-curricular activities which advance my professional and personal life.
Experience
I currently have my own small business in up-cycling, I make furniture from pre-used Whiskey barrels. This has taught me to have a customer focussed approach and how to complete tasks at my best ability.
I also have work experience with Turner and Townsend, Engineering in Perth, where I developed my skills in Engineering and the building industry. Which taught me resilience, expanded my creativity and taught me to work independently and in a team.
Education
I have seven National 5 Qualifications, which include, English (A), Applications of Mathematics (A) and Mathematics (C).
I have also completed both an HNC and HND in Social Sciences, receiving an A at both levels.
