My name is Eva, I am an event professional with a background in technical production, radio, talent curation, hospitality, and stage crew (stage management, production runner, driver, stage hand, production coordinator). I have exceptional organisational skills, an eye for detail, and a strong passion for music and live events. Technical Producer

Here and Now Productions March 2023 - Current

-Assessed needs of client and create production strategies to meet equipment, staffing, and technical requirements of large and medium-scale events in live music, cultural, and corporate settings.
-Created a number of assets in Google Suite and Canva: budgets, invoices, production schedules, employee scheduling and duties lists, transportation plans, equipment lists, site maps, safety plans, and more as needed.
-Booked rental equipment, collected quotes, updated budgets, ensured full returns, and paid invoices in a timely manner.
-Advanced with artists, fulfilling and negotiating their technical and hospitality riders. Advanced also with crew: providing drivers, audio techs and stage managers with relevant resources to prepare them for a seamless and safe show.
-Managed the social media and online presence of our company, posting on Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook about each event we produce; as well as designing and updating our website.
-Past clients have included: Vancouver International Film Festival, Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week, Music BC, Music Heals, City of Burnaby, City of New Westminster, Wave 98.3 FM, Brand Live, Squamish Nation, and Red Truck Brewing.

 

Stage Manager - Freelance

Event(s): Khatsalano Street Festival ; Surrey Fusion Festival Client(s): MRG Group

-Managed the Trafalgar Stage at Khatsalano Street Festival, keeping to the schedule for a series of 11 artists ranging from 2-input solo artists to 5-piece bands, and a rock band with a full bongo/djembe percussion section. Each challenging changeover was only 10 minutes.

-Managed the Unity Stage at Fusion Festival for two days with 5 artists each day. I ran sound checks, cued the show, oversaw the greenroom and audio booth, and communicated issues or equipment shortages as needed. Emcee’d for both stages, addressing talking points in a professional manner while energetically announcing performers.

-Communicated in a friendly yet firm manner with talent and crew to keep to strict deadlines, maintaining a stage atmosphere of fun and camaraderie while upholding high standards of production.

 

Production Coordinator - Freelance

-Cued high-calibre talent in a personable and efficient manner.
Liaised with event crew as Here & Now Productions’ representative, answering questions about schedules, equipment and general logistics.
-Struck, inventoried, and loaded out rental returns on large scale orders worth tens of thousands of dollars.
-Delegated tasks to volunteers and crew, serving as a managerial figure and ensuring that our staff was well taken care of.

 

Production Runner / Artist Hospitality - Freelance

-Acquired items on hospitality riders, prepared greenroom compound, setting up trailers and outdoor space with lighting, seating and lawn games, as well as striking at end of day.
-Ran errands offsite, picking up further refreshments, ice, and crew/artist requests.
-Established friendly rapport with talent, acting as a point of contact for their hospitality needs throughout the show, and shuttling them as needed.

 

Driver / Stage Hand -  Freelance

-Adhered to tight pickup/drop off schedules to load equipment in and out of up to 5 venues per day.
-Lifted heavy equipment up to 80lbs throughout long days of up to 15 hours Drove a Sprinter cargo van safely with no accidents.

-Assisted in set up and strike of venues with care not to damage any equipment.

Artist Booking Director

Blank Vinyl Project - UBC October 2021 - Apr 2023

-Curated the artists for a weekly live music night at Koerner's pub on UBC's campus, paying special attention to diversity and sound cohesion. Ensured that proper documentation was obtained from the artists: signed contracts, invoices, tech rider, artists photos and bios.

-Networked with artists at our events and at off- campus shows. Encouraging a strong sense of community was essential to the vision of this collective, so outreach and relationship-building was a component that was especially significant to me as director.

-Acted as a first point of contact for artists, greeted them upon arrival at the venue and ensured that they have everything they need technically and hospitality-wise.

 

Radio Show Host

101.9 CiTR FM September 2020 - April 2023

-Reporter, interviewer and on-air personality for The Arts Report on CiTRFM. Correspondent with the Music Affairs Collective show, Spit in Your Ear; and host and writer for What’s The Story?
-Hosted a biweekly documentary-style show, What’s the Story, each episode requiring 15 hours of research and writing on average.
-Presented reports of Vancouver’s arts scene for a weekly show, The Arts Report, using strong written and oral communication skills to share content in a succinct, entertaining and well- informed manner.
-Conducted interviews with musicians, artists, filmmakers etc., relying on my interpersonal skills, diligent research and extensive pre-show planning.
-Recorded and edited segments from home during Covid-19, becoming competent using the Audacity software for sound editing.
-Delivered work punctually each week, adhering to strict deadlines even when working on up to four segments an episode.

Education

Graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA). I majored in English Language and minored in Sociology where I earned a 3.85 GPA.
