About Eve Beaumont:

I am a qualified primary teacher with over 12 years of experience in EYFS and KS2. Throughout my career, I have taught in a variety of different schools including large city schools, international schools and village schools. The varied nature of the schools I have taught in have given me valuable experience in teaching a diverse range of students.

Experience

The varied nature of the schools I have taught in have given me valuable experience in teaching a diverse range of students. My first school had over 80% of children with English as an additional language so I have developed many strategies to support inclusive communication in my classroom, such as pictures cues, vocabulary banks and phonics interventions. This has been strengthened further by teaching abroad where the children were predominantly bilingual and more recently when welcoming Ukrainian children into my classroom. I always strive to include a range of oracy activities into my teaching such as paired talking, groups discussions and whole class circle times. I have found that this not only supports EAL children in developing their language but also helps the whole class to develop their listening and communication skills and close the word gap.

I have extensive experience of supporting children with a range of special education’s needs. I am competent in writing individual support plans and one-page profiles, which support the children in my class and ensure that they are getting the correct adaptations in the classroom, such as physical alterations, targeted interventions and adult support where necessary. My classroom is a welcoming and inclusive place and I always ensure that the learning is differentiated and accessible to all.

Throughout all the schools I have taught in, I have used a mix of formative assessments, like quizzes and short recall activities, along with summative assessments, such as projects and exams, including administering the year 4-multiplication check. I use this to get a clear picture of each student's progress and identify areas where children may need more support. I adjust my teaching based on the results to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed. I also work closely with other support staff in my school and liaise effectively with them to support the children and provide some targeted intervention work.

Education

I completed a PGCE at Bishop Grosseteste University College in 2012. I also completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology on 2010.
