About Fiona Readman:
Within my role as an Associate Practitioner, I assist consultant anaethetists, nurses and Operation Department Practitioners ( ODP's ) in emergency situations.
As part of the multidisciplinary team I am able to recognise deteriorating patients and responed appropriately. All my mandatory training is up to date which includes Basic Life support, Immediate Life support, Acute illness management ( AIMS ) and Manual handling, mental health Level 2, Domestic violence this enables me to provide high standards of care. I am able to deal with emergency situations in a calm and professional manner.
Daily responsibilities include checking of emergency equipment within the work place and stocking up of all the equipment for the days use. I also ensure working environment is clean and tidy.
On a day to day basis I care for adults,children also patients with learning disabilities and mental health issues. I am able to assess, plan and implement patient care and provide treatment accordingly ensuring patients safety for continuity of care. I ensure high standards of documentation within patients records and that they are legible and accurate When esculating patient care I use Situation,Background,Assessment,Recommendation ( SBAR) to maintain effective communication.
I have completed my training for the protection of the vulnerable adult and child protection legislations. I am aware of the importance of Confidentiality and Data Protection Act. I adhere to all trust policies.
I have good IT skills as inputting of patient details and information onto computer is part of my daily duties.
Within the Operating Department I have assisted with surgical and invasive procedures using aseptic techniques I am aware of how important this is to prevent cross infections.
.In my role as an Emergency Care Assistant within the ambulance service I work as a first responder and I am responsible for delivering adequate care to all patients within the limitation of my role, taking observations, medical history and all other vital information to assist the paramedic when backing up the crew or to pass over to medical team at hospital. I also deliver basic life support were needed. I work as part of a multidisciplinary team caring for adults and children also contribute to the cleaning and stocking up of the ambulance to make sure all equipment is there for the following crews to carry on with the next shift.
In my current role I liaise with GP’s, nurse practitioners, and other multi disciplinary teams to ensure that the care I provide to the patients is the best care appropriate for there needs.
I have already done a Cert HE at Teesside University and I feel I may have some work already done that I may transfer I have done a number of corses regarding safeguarding on Teesside Safeguarding All which was giving to me by the safeguarding team at Cleveland police this is something I feel very passionate about and would like to hopefully be given the chance to show how passionate by doing the job.
In relation to my experience and personal skills I am an experienced individual who is capable of performing to a high standard in various situations. I fully understand the importance of teamwork when in a work situation and I always ensure that I communicate effectively with other people in the team. I am co-operative, industrious and knowledgeable and I have proven that I can perform well above the expected standard. I am a dedicated individual, as well as an active member of the community. I am capable of contributing a professional, innovative, and a flexible approach to any position, and I am willing to self-develop and attend any course deemed necessary. I am a very committed, self-motivated, self-disciplined, reliable person, with good interpersonal skills, good work ethics, a commitment to excellence, and an enthusi I am a strong and stable person who is quick thinking, decisive, and the ability to work on my own initiative and will be able to provide immediate professional assistance in all sorts of scenarios. I feel I can react well to stressful situations and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
I have also been doing administrative work for the past 11 months trained on cleric and pathways.
