Florentine Rockenbauer

I am Florentine Rockenbauer, an art consultant and collection manager with a rich background in non-bankable assets. Educated in Fine and Decorative Art and Design at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London and holding a BA in Architecture from the University of Westminster, my journey has been anything but conventional. My passion for art history, especially Modernism and Art Nouveau, has driven me to become proficient in cataloguing and curating distinguished art collections. My research skills are not just about digging into the past; they’re about weaving connections that light up the trajectories of art movements across time.

My professional path has taken me through renowned institutions like Zaha Hadid Architects and the historic Dorotheum in Vienna, where I’ve sharpened my ability to manage and enhance valuable art collections. Whether it’s documenting the developmental intricacies of Beijing's Unicorn Island project or strategizing collection displays, I bring a visionary perspective to the dynamic world of art investment and managing.

My professional journey has led me through roles at Zaha Hadid Architects, where I played a key role in the Unicorn Island project in Beijing, and at Vienna's Dorotheum, where I focused on curating and analyzing Art Nouveau and Modernism artworks. I’ve also enhanced my skills at Grimshaw Architects and Allies & Morrison, broadening my expertise in architecture and art.

I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Fine and Decorative Art and Design at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. My focus areas include Old Masters and Decorative Art, as well as Modernism and Modernity. My coursework is enriched with electives on Modernism’s markets and art logistics, allowing me to deepen my understanding of the art world’s historical depth alongside its current market dynamics. This program is equipping me with the critical skills necessary for expert analysis and management of art collections, emphasising both academic rigor and practical applications.
