About Fruzsina Tulkos:
I am a dedicated psychology graduate based in Manchester, with a strong academic foundation from The Open University and a diverse background in both mental health research and corporate training. My experience as a restaurant supervisor and coach has equipped me with valuable skills in team management, problem-solving, and mental health first aid. These roles have allowed me to develop corporate training programs and support teams effectively.
Having successfully navigated a significant life transition from Hungary to the UK, I have honed my resourcefulness and organizational abilities. My academic journey includes conducting various literature reviews, particularly on anxiety and depression treatments, and completing a dissertation exploring the sociocultural experiences of Hungarian students studying in the UK via distance education.
I am passionate about mental health research and support, and I am eager to leverage my skills and experiences to explore new opportunities in this field. My insights into psychological development, research methodologies, and mental health issues drive my commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
Experience
I have a diverse background that combines leadership and interpersonal skills, essential for the mental health field. Currently, I serve as a Restaurant Supervisor, where I oversee staff operations and address both workplace and personal concerns raised by team members, fostering a positive and communicative environment.
Additionally, I was a Volunteering Leader at Open Kitchen Manchester during the lockdown (05/2019 - 04/2020), where I built professional networks with organizations such as the City Council, Ocado, and Marks & Spencer to deliver food packages to families in need. I coordinated training to enhance operations and team morale while maintaining government guidelines during lockdown. I also developed and implemented standards and procedures for staff activities in logistics and food preparation, delegating tasks based on staff strengths to ensure productivity.
I have completed a Mental Health First Aid Certificate through a two-day program, equipping me with foundational knowledge to support mental well-being. Furthermore, I am pursuing a Level 5 Coaching Apprenticeship, which is enhancing my coaching and mentoring abilities. My previous managerial and supervisory roles in various establishments have further honed my leadership skills, allowing me to train and develop new staff effectively. I am eager to leverage my transferable skills and experiences to contribute to the mental health field.
Education
My academic journey includes conducting literature reviews on anxiety and depression treatments, as well as a forensic psychology project focused on therapeutic practices for offenders with mental health issues. I also completed a dissertation exploring the sociocultural experiences of Hungarian students studying in the UK via distance education. During my undergraduate training, I conducted both quantitative experiments and qualitative projects using SPSS and NVivo, gaining a well-rounded understanding of research methodologies. These experiences have provided me with valuable insights into psychological development and research practices.
