The phenomenal connection between the mind and behaviour has been a core foundation for my interest in studying psychology. Having read multiple journals and conducted further research has encouraged me to improve my knowledge. Therefore, I wish to proceed my learning in psychological theory, research, and practice to pursue a career in psychology. I aim to combine my existing experience with a suitable position to enhance my understanding of Psychology both in theory and practice to become a professional clinical psychologist.

I have expanded on my learning through practical work experience in clinical settings, including participating in an internship at Moodist Neurological and Psychiatric Hospital in Turkey. This was a month-long internship in Turkey where I worked as a training clinical psychologist along with a psychologist and a psychiatrist. At the hospital, the training and seminars that were also given to us for preliminary interview and anamnesis, Introduction to testing for example how should a good test be, or the test interview and reporting be. Implementing, interpreting, and reporting the MMPI Test was also part of our training. On the other hand, our main duties involved were participation in the first clinical interviews with psychiatrist and clinical psychologist, we then took part in psychopathology courses and therapeutic interventions trainings which gave me insight of how to work as clinical psychologist to decide which therapy or treatment is suitable for each patient.
Moreover, I am currently working as an administrator in a doctor’s clinic in London. This role has enabled me to be closely involved with patients, for example on several occasions I was a chaperone and a translator for people having language difficulties. My involvement enabled me to acknowledge various medical conditions and procedures as well as develop my professionalism. I have gained first-hand experience from professionals which enabled me to gain further information about the different pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments that are available for patients.Both of these experiences have provided me with an in-depth and practice understanding of the clinical work environment, particularly helping me to observe how theory is put into practice.

I currently hold a 2:2 degree in Psychology from London Metropolitan University, and so I already possess a wealth of knowledge concerning psychological theory and research. It is vital to be able to understand and transpose clinical information learnt in university and apply them appropriately in practice.
