I’m a proud, homegrown, British filmmaker who has recently made his feature directorial debut, the indie-found footage horror film /demo_n, under my production company, Contemporary Pictures Ltd., which premiered at the Rich Mix London and the ShockFest Film Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada on the 25th October 2024 and now streaming on Found TV, with the possibility of it getting a theatrical run across the UK, USA, and Canada.
Before that, I worked as an animator in my first in-house position on Pop Paper City for LoveLove Films, distributed by Aardman Animations, which aired on Channel 5's children's Saturday and Sunday daytime TV slots on Milkshake from late 2022-to-early 2023, and can be watched on-demand on My5.
I briefly did some pitch work as a freelance storyboard artist for an upcoming video game for Fire Without Smoke back in August 2022, as well as offering my services in this field for independent productions, short films, and music videos.
I was a freelance camera operator for mainly corporate events between 2018-2020, but have dabbled in the odd commercial, and independent films, including my own attempts where I directed short documentaries, short films, and animated pieces which have garnered me some success winning an array of accolades, and earning praise for my use of editing, sound design, creative camera work, and displaying a knack for creating atmosphere and building suspense in the horror genre, and delivering storytelling with high-energy entertainment value while making them on near-to-no-budgets.
I was also an actor who had taken part in gala events at community theatre programs since the age of 10 until I made my professional stage acting debut at the age of 19, where I co-starred in the stage adaptation of Shane Meadows' award-winning film TwentyFour Seven, in 2013, before getting accepted in taking on a two-year commitment in intensive training at The Poor School from 2014-2016. I was then signed upon graduation by a talent agency, New Wonder Management, and managed to get roles in theatre productions, short films, and site-specific events playing an elf at Lapland UK during December 2016, and a show host for the Tui Cruise Ship Tours throughout the Summer of 2017.
I'm also an author, having self-published my first action-adventure novel Malcolm Dare: Legacy, in December 2023, which you can buy on Paperback and Kindle via Amazon.
I'm currently in pre-production on my next feature film, which was co-written by myself, Richard Charlton and Rebecca Hanser.
