Recently, I completed my degree in English Literature and Publishing from Bath Spa University, where I honed my creative skills and developed a keen eye for visual storytelling. My background in literature has equipped me with a unique perspective on narrative and aesthetics, which I am eager to bring into the world of graphic design. Thanks to the publishing side of my degree, I am proficient in industry-standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite, and have a proven ability to translate ideas into compelling visuals. 

My most recent project involved designing an outsourced feature for Nearfield, a local magazine based in Bath. This hands-on experience was invaluable, as it taught me the intricacies of layout design and the high standards expected in the industry. I successfully collaborated with the editorial team to translate their vision into compelling and visually appealing layouts, which are now published with a print run of 10,000 copies per issue.

In the final year of my English Literature and Publishing degree, I specifically chose elective modules that focused on design. These modules involved various hands-on assessments, including:

• Creating an app concept and pitching it to a board of professionals
• Developing a magazine concept complete with sample pages, a media pack, and a flat plan
• Designing multiple types of website portfolios
• Designing feature layouts

These projects allowed me to apply my design skills in practical scenarios using industry-standard software, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and receive valuable feedback from industry professionals. I earned a 1st for most of these assessments.
