About Gillian Brand:

I am deeply passionate about leadership coaching and development, as evidenced by my extensive experience and achievements in this field. As an LD300 ICF Leader Coach, I have had the privilege of providing coaching sessions to senior leadership, helping them enhance their skills and achieve their full potential. My role as a facilitator for the CI Leadership Fundamentals training has allowed me to engage leaders on crucial topics such as team engagement and building trust, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

In addition to my coaching roles, I have been instrumental in delivering impactful training programs. As a facilitator for Culture Workstreams, I have guided leaders in reflecting on how they can influence culture and address current challenges that hinder our strategic goals. My dedication to training needs analysis and program evaluation led to the creation of the Interactive Talent & Development Workbook, which has been recognized as best practice across Caterpillar and earned the Innovation Fair Award in 2024.

My commitment to leadership development extends beyond training delivery. As the WIN Global Vice Chair Professional Development Committee, I have designed and facilitated multiple leadership development programs, including sessions on Individual Development Planning (IDP) and Unconscious Bias training. I have also organized and facilitated in-person speed networking events to support professional growth and improved the interview process by introducing diverse panels. Leading the implementation of the LASTing Culture campaign within engineering and supply chain has been a rewarding experience, as it has helped retain talent through leadership development.

Throughout my career, I have successfully collaborated with stakeholders to address development needs and implement solutions across global teams. My role as a Talent Management Partner at Caterpillar UK Ltd has allowed me to implement talent management processes, provide advice and support to business and HR leaders, and facilitate change management initiatives. I am dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence, and I am excited to bring my passion for leadership coaching and development to new opportunities.

Experience

I have a robust background in talent management, leadership coaching, and development, with a strong focus on implementing effective processes and programs. Currently, as a Talent Management Partner at Caterpillar UK Ltd, I am responsible for implementing site or regional talent management processes, providing advice and support to business and HR leaders, and facilitating change management initiatives. I also lead a group within Global Finance to develop and facilitate a new talent and development roadmap process.

Additionally, I am an LD300 ICF Leader Coach, providing coaching sessions to senior leadership and helping them enhance their skills and achieve their full potential.

Previously, as a Finance Learning & Development Partner at Caterpillar UK Ltd, I conducted comprehensive training needs analyses for finance teams, created an interactive talent and development workbook, and designed leader playbooks and toolkits. My role involved presenting results to management and defining robust succession planning processes.

As an Accounting Manager at Caterpillar UK Ltd, I managed a team of seven in specialised areas, implemented automation projects, and won the 2nd Quarter BCP VP Award in 2021 for the Accounts Payable EDI project. My earlier roles included Staff Accountant I, where I provided monthly analysis on inventory levels and coordinated the annual business plan period costs, and Internal Controls Coordinator, where I coordinated communications related to Sarbanes-Oxley ACT controls and provided training on internal controls.

My additional learning and development experience includes engaging in a self-led program covering essential L&D concepts and participating in collaborative learning sessions aimed at enhancing organizational development knowledge.

Education

I have a strong educational background that complements my professional experience. I am currently part-qualified in the ICF Professional Coaching Qualification, with just my final assessment exam to submit, which enhances my skills in leadership coaching. I hold the ACCA Professional Qualification, obtained in 2011, demonstrating my expertise in accounting and finance. Additionally, I earned a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from De Montfort University in 2006, providing me with a solid foundation in financial principles and practices.
