Throughout my career, I have thrived in fast-paced environments, honing my skills to adapt and excel in various settings, with diverse individuals and projects. My professional background includes roles in customer service, team training and management, stock and operations, as well as departmental oversight. In each position, my primary goal has been to find solutions, support colleagues and customers in overcoming obstacles, and ultimately achieve desired outcomes. I take pride in my strong work ethic, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and up to standard. I have actively pursued personal development by expanding my knowledge of operations and agile workflow management to foster a more productive work environment.

With years of experience as a team leader, I have successfully improved team and individual performance indicators, while providing support and training to boost morale and address any challenges hindering target achievement.

Throughout my current role i've attained roles for the store as Microsoft Expert and Gaming Expert, in which I've supported the department with the highest KPI targets as Manager on a 3 month secondment, also recently selected to attend the management program to start officially as part of the business. I am a person with aspirations of developing my skills into a career, I want to become valuable as possible. Having excelled in customer-focused roles, I am now eager to transition into operations management to further enhance the overall customer experience.

Experience

Currys - Sales Associate / Department Lead

  • Maintaining a professional positive manner whilst building rapport with customers and working with them to provide solutions to their gaming needs.
  • Consistently researching and keeping up to date with current gaming industry news and products.
  • Regularly attending meetings with brands in order to build comprehensive product knowledge, to provide feedback on customer experience and to develop new best practices within the gaming department.
  • Working with and representing brands that sponsor the Supplier Expertise Specialist Gaming Expert role eg. PC Specialist, SteelSeries, Predator, MSI, Meta and Logitech.
  • Attending conferences to represent and network as part of Currys Gaming Category to potential and current suppliers, investors and sponsors including Gamescom and Currys Peak Conference.
  • Identify, analyze and respond to any customer issues by providing guidance on how to use our products, giving recommendations and offering any additional support or solutions to better their experience.
  • Maintaining the department to enrich the customer experience with product displays and demonstrations of products. Identifying problems or new opportunities to feedback to brands on their paid displays.
  • Building a team within the store that regularly encounter gaming related inquiries or sales, providing regular training sessions with colleagues to transfer product and hardware knowledge, brand and seasonal promotions and customer benefit led incentives.
  • Engage with the company social media platform ‘Workplace’ to communicate and share in-store success stories, customer feedback and escalating any concerns.
  • Raising and prioritising support tickets using company feedback software that alerts relevant teams to feedback or rectify any issues in store.

 

In 2021 I received a secondment to work alongside managers to cover the busiest period of the year between Nov ‘21 and Jan ‘22. My role included managing a team of 9 people within the computer department ensuring we hit total sales, service add-ons and tech warranty service targets. During this period I played a key role in moving our store position within the computing department Knowhow Services to top three in the region.

Education

3D Computer Games Design  - Post Graduate Degree 
Developing more skills working towards more of 3D focus, with team management with leader role of a mobile games collaborating module. My dissertation was exploring the development of Modular Design. 



Concept Games Design - BSc

Modules included 3D Design, Digital Matte Painting, Character Design, Unreal Engine Development, Life Drawing. 

During my time at university, I gained the role of Producer for our ‘Collaborative Games Development’ module during the final year. I was responsible for overseeing the management of the project, distributing tasks, managing and navigating the sprints, identifying issues, risks and problem solving within the team to continue flow of the sprint while following game production pipeline.
