After working in Italy for 3 years as a Chemical Expert at the Milazzo’s Oil and Gas Refinery in Italy, I took the opportunity to work in the USA for 3 years performing medical research projects based on the study of antibodies and anti-antibodies at the New York Medical College (NY). Following this, I returned to Italy to further my knowledge attending all the chemical laboratories and lectures (BSc in Chemistry). In 2017, I was offered permanent assignments in the Food Industry as a QA/QC Laboratory Analyst – Team Leader. In January 2020, I moved to the UK on a fixed term contract working as a Laboratory Chemist / Analyst in Lufthansa LTLGS UK until the end of July 2020 achieving also the ORPC certificate as Radiation Protection Supervisor (Oxford, 2020). Following this, I accepted a position as a Chemistry Department Lab Manager at the University of Messina completing my BSc Honours in Chemistry in the meantime (1:1 with honours, July 2021). I am currently working as Senior Manager at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in Teddington. 

These positions have allowed me to expand my practical, theoretical, and technical knowledge and to progress my career.

In addition to my educational and career background, I personally have a great experience in team management /blended learning, Lean / Six Sigma continuous improvements projects, budgeting, procurement, Quality Control / Assurance and material specifications, H&S / COSHH management, validation plans, inspections, internal and external quality audits, ISO 9001-14001-17025-18001, SOPs / Wis / Protocols management, GMP-cGMP / ICH regulations management, customer complaints / accounts / data base management. Recently achieved IOSH / Electrical and Machinery safety certification. 

I thrive in contributing new ideas and innovations to maximize production efficiency, analytical capacity, and introducing cost saving measures. 

I would define myself as a people person, a perfectionist, a skilled problem solver / trouble-shooter and a really precise, accurate, and flexible leader. I am a strong communicator and I have strong ethics. I am flexible and adaptable, and I am very good at working at pace. I am focused on the bigger picture, and I embrace changes positively.
