Gurparas Singh

Recently graduated, MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from University of Birmingham. I have an ardent passion for innovation, engineering and technology. 

My hobbies are reading, writing, boxing and buying and repairing old typewriters. I relish in working in team, I like to be the hardest worker in the room and I vehemently believe that if a job is worth doing it is worth doing well. 

I adapt myself to my surroundings and I think that self development and growth is the one true goal of life. To learn as much as possible, and to keep changing and to strive to be better everyday for the betterment of yourself and the organisation you work for. 

My work experience is as follows:

• Marks & Clerk LLP | Cummins (Sept. 2023-  ): Learning about Patent Application processes, Registered Design Applications and prosecution, assessments, arguments against search and examination reports and other office actions and dealing with clients. 
• Royal Enfield( Jun. 2022- Sept. 2022) : I was a Graduate Engineer at Royal Enfield, wherein I worked on several projects one of them, using CAD softwares to design a crate for the export of motorcycles and their subsequent analysis and simulations. Developed warehouse layouts for their optimised workflow.
• Healthcare Innovation Center, IIT Madras(Oct. 2021 - Dec. 2021): I worked as an intern during my Undergraduade degree, performed Heat Transfer calculations for an endoscope connector device.
• Oerlikon Balzers( Jun. 2021- Jul. 2021): Learnt about PVD coating processes, and vaccum coating processes and their applications.
• ICFDR (Jun. 2021- Dec. 2021): Volunteered with a non-profit organisation to teach mathematics to underprivliged children.

Additional Achievements:

Published a Research article with Springer LNME in November 2022, entitled “Study of Aerodynamic components on the rear of the car and the effects of varying design parameters” wherein I performed a comparitive study of aerodynamic components namely rear wings and diffusers on the rear of a standardised saloon car, and studied the effect that changing their design parameters produced. 

My academic achievements are as follows:

• Masters in Advanced Mechanical Engineering- University of Birmingham - (Sept. 2022- Sept. 2023) : Studied various modules namely AI and automation, Adv. Vehicle Engineering, Integrated Design Project, Powertrain and advanced fuel systems etc. The title of the Dissertation Advanced project was- Developing an Equivalent Consumption Minimisation Strategy for fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles.
• B. Tech in Automotive Design Engineering- University of Petroleum and Energy Studies - (Aug. 2018- May 2022) : Graduated with a Bachelors degree with first rank in my class, received a silver medal for exceptional academic achievement for a CGPA of 8.86. 
• Higher Secondary - Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya - (May 2018) : Percentage Mark=86.6%
• Secondary school - St. Francis School - (May 2016) : Percentage Mark=93.2%
