About Hannah McAleenon:
I have recently graduated from Queen's University Belfast with a First Class Honours in Spanish and Portuguese. This degree allowed me to build skills in critical thinking, written and spoken communication, translation and cultural awareness. I also took part in a year abroad where I spent 6 months living in Oviedo, Spain and 6 months in Porto, Portugal, developing my linguistic skills and being immersed in new cultures.
I have had the opportunity to work with young people on various occasions, including during my year abroad where I was an English tutor to two young children in their home. My other teaching experience includes the NICILT program which involved preparing and giving lessons to Year 10 students to show them the importance of language learning, and the WPU Student Assistant program which involved being an ambassador for my university to potential future students. I have also completed a 120-hour TEFL course which taught me the essentials of English language teaching, ranging from online lessons, teaching children, large groups, and business English.
I am passionate about learning languages, and as a keen language learner, I know how languages work. This gives me an advantage for teaching languages, as I have the experience of learning them.
