Holly Warmington

I am currently a Dental nurse but I have always had a passion for working with children. I have previously studied health and social care and carried out my work placements within a primary school and a playgroup and this helped to confirm for me that working with children is something I would love to do.

I currently have a job as Dental Nurse in Coventry. I enjoy working as a Dental Nurse as it gives me the opportunity to help and support patients whilst caring for them during their time at the surgery. In order to work as a Dental nurse I carried out an apprenticeship in 2017 that I completed and qualified at distinction level in February 2020. During my time carrying out my apprenticeship I fell pregnant with my daughter who is now 4 years old and whilst I was on maternity leave the COVID pandemic struck. This resulted in me postponing my apprenticeship for 1 year rather then the normal 9 months maternity leave however when the practice was allowed to reopen I then completed my apprenticeship and qualified as a Dental Nurse at a distinction level.

I am able to work effectively as part of a team and use my own initiative when necessary; I have learned these skills through volunteering as a young Brownie leader, by working in my current job as a Dental Nurse and through volunteer work at a local playgroup and primary school through College.

I am a reliable and trustworthy person with sunny disposition and good communication skills; both verbally and through written communication.

I have good IT skills that I use daily both at work and at home.

I am punctual, well organized and I have good a work ethic; I believe this is important as it makes you a better and more efficient worker.

I am able to communicate and mix well with both adults and children and have used these skill during my time volunteering and at work.

My spare time is spent going on days out with my daughter, crocheting and assisting to look after my sister in law who has disabilities and additional needs, as well as spending time with my husband and family.

All my life I have wanted to work with children with the end goal to go to hopefully become a Primary School Teacher. I enjoy helping to assist children with their learning and to help them to grow into themselves.

After leaving school I went on to study Health and Social care level 3 which I finished at a Pass level. 

In September 2017 I started my apprenticeship as a Dental nurse which i finished in February 2020 at Distinction level. Through my job as a Dental nurse I am also registered with the General Dental Council and DBS checked.
