James Asplin

I have always been a self-starting writer first and foremost. I originally started in film, writing, directing, and editing many short films while studying for my A Levels. A place opened for a Creative Writing AS course in my second year, and I decided to take it out of interest. Through this, I discovered a love for prose that started me on a journey to one day publishing a novel.

After years of learning from mistakes and discovering my passions as a writer, I finally fell in love with a story and achieved that dream in July 2023. I aim to continue with this career, writing the sequel now, but I would love to start expanding my experience in writing professionally.

I have worked a wide variety of service jobs, including frontline retail, optical assistance, and clinical administration. At the core of these roles was the people, and learning how best to communicate effectively. As a result, I am a team player capable of supporting others, and taking the initiative when I can.
