James Betchley
Education / Training
About James Betchley:
I am highly passionate about learning and development, having built up my experience in the field over the past 10 years working for the National Governing Body of motorsport. I am skilled in learning design, including e-learning content and workshop/seminar development, and I am very comfortable delivering training interventions both face-to-face and in an online setting. I have spent over 16 years working with a volunteer workforce consisting of people from all walks of life, and this has enabled me to gain highly effective communication skills, building strong relationships with key stakeholders. I am a brilliant storyteller and have led on the development and implementation of sport-wide recruitment, retention and recognition strategies, marketing the benefits of volunteering and the transferrable skills that can be developed. I am highly skilled in the Articulate 360 suite of authoring tools, having designed and developed over 50 e-learning modules in my previous role, and in the administration and implementation of Learning Management Systems.
To put it simply, I really enjoy explaining things to people in a clear and relatable manner. To me, there is nothing better than analysing a new challenge, utilising my problem-solving skills to come up with a creative solution, and then communicating that solution to others so that they can get the most out of the software they are using, or the experience that they are undertaking. I am more than happy working on my own, however I thrive in an environment where I can bounce ideas off others and collaborate as part of a team.
I am available immediately and am open to hybrid and fully remote opportunities.
